At the 1990 World Cup in Italy, West Germany won their third World Cup title, in its unprecedented third consecutive final appearance. Captained by Lothar Matthus, they defeated Yugoslavia (41), UAE (51), the Netherlands (21), Czechoslovakia (10), and England (11, 43 on penalty kicks) on the way to a final rematch against Argentina, played in the Italian capital of Rome. West Germany won 10, with the only goal being a penalty scored in the 85th minute by Andreas Brehme. Beckenbauer, who won the World Cup as the national team's captain in 1974, thus became the first person to win the World Cup as both captain and coach.
Sane has the pace, flair and eye for goal to punish the Estonia defence, provided the 23-year-old isn't distracted by the growing saga regarding his club future. Bayern Munich remain keen on the Manchester City winger, even if the clubs are far apart in their respective valuations:
Sappinen led the Estonia line against Northern Ireland at the weekend and that is again expected to be the case in this match, although teenage Erik Sorga is an option for the visitors.

These teams played last time almost 100 years ago in the 1937 year and Germany won by 4:1. Even after almost 100 years, things dont change and we expect a similar result.
A change from black to red came in 2005 on the request of Jrgen Klinsmann, but Germany played every game at the 2006 World Cup in its home white colours. In 2010, the away colours then changed back to a black shirt and white shorts, but at the tournament, the team dressed up in the black shorts from the home kit. The German team next resumed the use of a green shirt on its away kit, but then changed again to red-and-black striped shirts with white stripes and letters and black shorts.
Germany and Estonia play in the Coface Arena, in a qualifying round for the Eurocup Qualifying Round. There is no record of official clashes between these two teams in the last 3 years. The last confrontation was on 29-08-1937 and ended with the result: Germany (4-1) Estonia. In this match the home factor may play an important role, since Estonia has significant differences in the results achieved at home and as a visitor.

The Singing Revolution, the pursuit to restore Estonian independence and to cool regional tensions, found its way to football as well. On 18 July 1990, an exhibition match was held between Estonian and Latvian footballers at Kadriorg Stadium, to remember the last official match between the two teams as independent nations 50 years previously. The principle of assembling the squad was controversial. 63 players made a public addressing (Pevaleht, 24 April 1990) calling out the football governing bodies to only select the descendants of Estonians, leaving out immigrants who came to Estonia after World War II.

Coming into the 2002 World Cup, expectations of the German team were low due to poor results in the qualifiers and not directly qualifying for the finals for the first time. The team advanced through group play, and in the knockout stages they produced three consecutive 10 wins against Paraguay, the United States, and co-hosts South Korea. Oliver Neuville scored two minutes from time against Paraguay and Michael Ballack scored both goals in the USA and South Korea games, although he picked up a second yellow card against South Korea for a tactical foul and was suspended for the subsequent match. This set up a final against Brazil, the first World Cup meeting between the two. Germany lost 02 thanks to two Ronaldo goals. Nevertheless, German captain and goalkeeper Oliver Kahn won the Golden Ball, the first time in the World Cup that a goalkeeper was named the best player of the tournament.
Estonia regained its independence on 20 August 1991, and then came back to international football when the team debuted in Lithuania's organized Baltic tournament taking place in November. However, the first recognized match did not take place until June 1992 in Tallinn as a friendly against Slovenia (11). This historic meeting under the guidance of coach Uno Piir was overseen by a team consisting of Mart Poom, Urmas Hepner, Igor Prins, Urmas Kaljend, Meelis Lindmaa, Toomas Kallaste, Tarmo Linnume, Indro Olumets, Martin Reim, Sergei Ratnikov, Risto Kallaste, Viktor Alonen, Urmas Kirs, Marko Kristal and Aleksandr Putov. Putov was the scorer of the Estonian goal.
In the UEFA Euro 1996 qualifying tournament the team was coached by Roman Ubakivi. The qualification tournament ended without a single point and a goals record of three scored and 31 against. The biggest defeats came from abroad against Croatia (71) and Lithuania (50).

Chelsea's Sarri barely watched Odoi with England, yet to speak about racist abuse
The national team's home kit has always been a white shirt, black shorts, and white socks. The colours are derived from the 19th-century flag of the North German State of Prussia. Since 1988, many of the home kit's designs incorporate details patterned after the modern German flag (with the noted exception of the 2002 World Cup kit, which was a reversion to the pure black-and-white scheme). For the 2014 World Cup, the German team used white shorts rather than the traditional black due to FIFA's kit clashing rule for the tournament. The away shirt colour has changed several times. Historically, green shirt with white shorts is the most often used alternative colour combination, derived from the DFB colours though it is often erroneously reported that the choice is in recognition of the fact that Ireland, whose home shirts are green, were the first nation to play Germany in a friendly game after World War II. However, the first team to play Germany after WWII, as stated above, was actually Switzerland. Other colours such as red, grey and black have also been used.

Estonia's only participation in a major tournament was at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
